Reactivation Employment Permit Scheme
Temporary Immigration Permission
The Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation operates the Reactivation Employment Permit (REP) Scheme. This REP scheme is designed for situations where a foreign national who entered the State on a valid Employment Permit but who fell out of the system through no fault of their own or who has been badly treated or exploited in the work place to work legally again.
The first stage in the scheme is for the person to apply to the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS) for “temporary immigration permission”, and once approved, this will then allow them to apply for the REP.
