Visas Division processes visa applications submitted to it directly, as well as those referred by Irish Embassies or Consulates worldwide (See this description of "What is a visa?" is to be sure you are contacting the correct division for assistance).

Visas Division has 7 international offices. If your country is not listed, contact the Irish embassy or consulate nearest to you or head office in Dublin (below).

Do not come to the office without an appointment. You will not be seen.

Online visa applications system (AVATS)

AVATS is INIS' online visa application system.

For help with AVATS, contact avatsqueries@justice.ie (please note that this is not for applications with a reference beginning with “OREG”, please see Registration Office web pages in relation to "Registration" applications).

Problems with a fully or partially completed online application

Describe your problem in detail. Emails that include the following information are answered more quickly, because we can isolate your application:

  • Visa Application/Transaction Number assigned to your application
  • Full name on the application
  • Date of birth
  • Nationality
  • Passport number
