Visas Division processes visa applications submitted to it directly, as well as those referred by Irish Embassies or Consulates worldwide.

Visas Division has 7 international offices. If your country is not listed, contact the Irish embassy or consulate nearest to you or head office in Dublin (below).

Contact Registration about GNIB cards or registration appointments in Dublin. Do not send an email to 'visamail' (Visas Division). We cannot help you.

Contact visamail about visa applications only. Include your Visa Application Reference Number to get an answer more quickly.

Opening times

Do not come to the office without an appointment. You will not be seen.

Monday to Friday: 8:30am to 1:30pm
Saturday, Sunday & public/bank holidays: Closed

AVATS is INIS' online visa application system.

Problems with a fully or partially completed online application

Describe your problem in detail. Emails that include the following information are answered more quickly, because we can isolate your application:

  • Visa Application/Transaction Number assigned to your application
  • Full name on the application
  • Date of birth
  • Nationality
  • Passport number
